Probelm: An inspector inspects a building by taking pictures and recording his/her notes.
Solution: Both picture and text notes will end up in a database for later review. The idea is to take pictures and take voice recording via phone. The phone application will then send it to ribbit. The ribbit API will then convert the voice to text and send both pictures and text to a database destination.
Web service solution: A web user interface is used to collect the picture and voice recording. After submitting, the web application will process as follows: send the voice to ribbit and ribbit will return a text. Both picture and text collected will be filed in a database for future retrieval.

It would be nice to be able to connect 3rd party DID numbers (like IPKall). Say, calling sip:u1234500001@sip.ribbit.com would work in the same manner as calling your Ribbit number

Hi,
I work on a Telco, we use a FreeSwitch box as a Proxy SIP for our Core Softswitch. Would be a great app for us if instead of using Google Voice, our customers can use their one SIP account, better also would be if you can select to talk inside the application or select a callback from the SF to your Office or Home line number. (Sending the URL to the Proxy with the number).

This would be cool as a business PBX replacement where a receptionist can route calls directly to ribbit boxes (without calling the phone) and employees can see the message come in as a text or email. So, being able to direct calls straight to a mail box by a receptionist would be cool.

would save me a lot of time if I could delete a transcription email on my blackberry and have the corresponding voicemail be deleted so i don't have to run through voicemail later and delete 20 voicemails. not sure how that'd work... maybe a special delete button that sends a copy of the email back to correlate with the voice message on the server?

I registered my mobile phone with Ribbit mobile....then stopped my mobile phone contract.....and I still have access to voicemails of the new subscriber to my old mobile phone number.....massive security issue !!
