Probelm: An inspector inspects a building by taking pictures and recording his/her notes.
Solution: Both picture and text notes will end up in a database for later review. The idea is to take pictures and take voice recording via phone. The phone application will then send it to ribbit. The ribbit API will then convert the voice to text and send both pictures and text to a database destination.
Web service solution: A web user interface is used to collect the picture and voice recording. After submitting, the web application will process as follows: send the voice to ribbit and ribbit will return a text. Both picture and text collected will be filed in a database for future retrieval.

I registered my mobile phone with Ribbit mobile....then stopped my mobile phone contract.....and I still have access to voicemails of the new subscriber to my old mobile phone number.....massive security issue !!

Make the PTSN to VoIP/SIP transition CHEAP.

This means breaking down cost barriers to revolutionize the whole way that the world communicates.
If you have a service like Google Voice, you've unified PTSN. If you have that AND access to that same phone number through SIP, you've unified all of telecommunications. If you can make VoIP calls on phones natively, you've almost knocked out the PTSN network. First we have to do the simple thing. Make it so that you can use SIP as a main protocol BUT allow FULL integration with regular PTSN calls (at least the termination still has to do with it) since most people use them. THEN make the switch over time. We have to start somewhere; people won't go to VoIP that easily giving up their traditional phone number.

Implement an IVR/ACD solution that would allow any Ribbit number to be assigned to an Agent ID/Queue for call distribution. This would provide a low cost alternative to actually buying an ACD server system with phones, or using hosted solutions like Fonality which require you buy phones from them.

More options than just Adobe Flash/Flex for development and integration. At a minimum there should be basic Java and .NET SDK's and preferably an open web service integration.

Can the ability to also alert someone via the Pageone gateway be added when they receive a voicemail or give the caller the option to leave a pager message as well if there is one registered for the phone number.

A simple(ish) one I think.
I would like to text Ribbit a phone number and for Ribbit to then call me and connect me to that number.
Useful for when on the move and a lengthy conference call is required. Doing this via mobile can cost a fortune but to get Ribbit to initiate the call to the mobile and then place the ongoing call (as can be done via the web) would be a real bonus for me.

While the capability of video conference with audio and auto transcription you open a world of uses whether team communication, interviews, group article collaborations all in real time. It would take the concept to the next level. This may be in the works. I certainly hope so.
